Service Opportunities

If you’d like to get involved with service structures and become a Trusted Servant for Agnostic ACA, you are in luck! There are many service positions to choose from. Here’s a few:


Meeting Roles

Meeting Chair

  • If you’ve been to one (1) meeting, you can chair a meeting!
  • Chairpersons read a provided script and call on people to share.
  • Chairpersons are invited to give a lead share for a given meeting, but it is not required. 

Host (training required)

  • Responsible for the safety of the meeting in the event of a disruption.
  • Enables the Waiting Room before a meeting begins.
  • Supports the Chairperson and Cohost(s) of the meeting.

Cohost (training required)

  • Assists the Host with ensuring the safety of the meeting; monitors Zoom gallery view to help the Host in the event of a disturbance.
  • Invites attendees into the meeting from the Waiting Room.
  • Lowers hands (share requests) once a person is unmuted and speaking.
  • Post chat messages and readings during the meeting.
  • Provide screensharing of meeting materials, such as the Serenity Affirmation, Promises, and Responsibility Statement.

Note: These service positions require a small amount of training. We ask that you go through the video training in order to be prepared to host or cohost a meeting.

Secretary

  • Collects agenda items from meeting members and serves as lead for business meetings.
  • Responsible for updating meeting documents (Chairperson Script and Chat Postings), per group decisions in a Business Meeting or Group Conscience.

Intergroup Roles

Treasurer

  • Collects and maintains accounting of Seventh Tradition donations to the Agnostic ACA community.
  • Disperses and reimburses funds for expenses and keeps financial records of transactions for transparency.
  • Tracks Seventh Tradition Donations and reports financial health of Agnostic ACA to the Intergroup at meetings.

Intergroup Representative

  • Attends Agnostic ACA Virtual Intergroup (AAVIG) meetings, representing their meeting’s interests.
  • Voices concerns regarding meeting conflicts, resources, and other issues to the Intergroup.

Additional Service Positions

WSO Delegate

Discord Server Moderator

  • Participates and monitors Discord server activities with membership.
  • Assists Server Administrators to admit new Members into the server after verifying identities and accounts.
  • Assigns roles to Server Members for access to locked channels and forums.
  • Collects incident reports and investigates issues concerning Member safety in the Discord Server.

Note: You do not need to be an expert in Discord to become a Server Moderator. You will be supported by a team of members dedicated to the online community and provided resources for better understanding the technologies involved.
